A Really Good Day
You're probably sitting here wondering why I'm writing a blog for the third day in a row. "She's never done this before," you may be thinking... or maybe "What the hell is she thinking?" may be running through your mind... either or, doesn't matter, cuz you're the one sitting here and reading it :) But I had a really good day and I wanted to share it with you.
Today started out normally. Got up (a little earlier than usual, but oh well), got ready for work, left, hopped the bus, got to work... just a couple hours into my shift, Norbert (my manager) came up and asked me to do him a favour. You see, whenever him and I do a coaching session we sit there and talk for most of it, just shoot the shit, and then he takes 5 minutes somewhere and tells me what he needs to tell me. In one of our conversations, I told him that I'm pretty computer savvy and can do almost anything he wants on the computer if he needs help. So anyway, he comes up to me and asks me to help him with the set-up of some spreadsheets. He showed me what he wanted, handed me the files (well put them on the drive where I could access him) and gave me carte blanche. I do have to admit that I did a good job :) But he got me off the phones for most of the rest of the day to do the work. It was really nice of him to trust me with that... and to actually remember that I can do it :) It made me feel good.
That was most of the work stuff... but today is also payday. And usually once a payday Rick and I go out for dinner to a nice restaurant. Tonight, he was craving the Mandarin (he does the mussells and shrimp... I find other things to feast upon!!) so we went to the one in Pickering. We spent the evening talking about our day and how we feel about certain things, and current events etc... we both try following the news online while at work, but we tend to look at different sites and see different newsbites, so we got to share a few with each other. But the coup de grace was this: dessert time. The Mandarin has these little cups made of chocolate that have mousse in them (strawberry, chocolate or mocha). We talked and joked and I cannot remember why, but he said that he wanted to put one of those mousse cups on my nose. I dared him to - and even said to use one of mine (he specifically said that the reason he wasn't going to is because it was a waste of a good dessert!). So, what did he do? Turned it upside down and basically stuck my nose in it!! When I took it off, I had chocolate mouse all over not just my nose, but my glasses!! I was laughing so hard I almost couldn't get it all off!! I couldn't believe he actually did it! I guess you had to be there, but it was just priceless ;) Almost as funny as us falling out of the boat and into the lake last year *chuckle*
Anyway... it's late, and I want to sleep at some point... but I wanted to tell about my great day :) Tomorrow (or Sunday depending on weather) we're going to travel agents to check about our trip to Victoria. I'm getting more excited!!!
