A sad day...

Tisha left for China today. And unfortunately, we had a fight with her before she left. Tisha was under the impression that we were coming to Renn Faire this past weekend. We really wanted to go... God I miss her. I thought I told her it wasn't set in stone, and that I'd tell her if we could go. I guess I didn't. She was upset that we weren't going as she was holding COMP passes for us. We just couldn't go... we didn't have enough money for gas to get to Hamilton. Hell, I had to borrow money from a girl at work for gas and bus tickets for 3 days. How could we get to Hamilton? I feel bad that she was so upset. We really wanted to go.... we just couldn't. Tish... if you're reading this, know that we love you, no matter what happens. We'll miss you so much while gone, but please email us at times to let us know you're thinking of us too. I'm sorry I upset you... I didn't mean to.

On other news... 2 weeks and 2 days before we fly out of here. We're counting the days!!

3 weeks to go!!

I'm feeling weird today, I think I have a head-ache or something... I don't know. But I'm getting excited :) 3 weeks today and we'll be getting onto the Ferry (local time) to go from Vancouver to Vancouver Island. I'm so psyched!! I just remembered I have to measure my butt and my waist to make sure I can fit in the seat.... I'll MAKE myself fit!! ;)

Good news and bad news...

Good news is.... we're going to BC!!! In exactly 1 month, we'll probably be walking around Victoria, BC. We are SOOOOOOOOOO excited, we're counting the days. Bad news is.... I've been reading Tisha's blog (http://www.tishainchina.blogspot.com) and she leaves in 2 weeks. I don't think we'll be able to see her before she leaves. She's got a job to go to in China, and she's gone for 10 months. I'll miss her. And the car is acting up, so we probably won't be able to make it out to Renn Faire by then. That just sucks. :(

On another note, I have a new affinity for the TTC. It usually takes me about 20-30 min on the subway to get from York Mills Stn to Queen on the Yonge line. 10-15 of that is between Rosedale and Queen. The TTC had a power loss between Eglinton and Bloor Stations. I was at Rosedale when it shut down. I didn't see a shuttle bus in sight... so I walked. Did you know it takes about an hour to walk down Yonge from Rosedale to Queen? It was a nice walk though... I stayed on the East side of the street, in the shade and looked at all the stores on the street. Found a Wendy's too *grin* When I hit Yonge and Bloor I found a payphone and called work to let them know what was happening, so I was late :( What can you do when you don't have extra tokens? But I'm proud of myself... my feet hurt and my legs ache... but I made it here.

This weekend was full of excitement for us... excitement for the future. We have been talking about our trip to BC for months now, ever since Michele & Bill told us they were moving... we've been planning and saving and moving funds to cover everything... and guess what? As of last night it's ALL booked!! Rick's Mom Carolynne was nice enough to let us use her credit card to book the plane tickets. We gave her the money, and took it right out. We're flying from Toronto to Vancouver on West Jet. Then flying back from Victoria on Air Canada. It was cheaper that way, so we did it. AND, Air Canada had a later flight which we love!! So we're flying out, leaving TO at 7:30am Sept 15th EST. We arrive 9:35am PST in Vancouver. Erica, Rick's cousin, is picking us up, we'll spend the day at the aquarium with them, go to their house for a bit, and then she'll drop us off at the ferry for 6pm. We take the ferry across to Vancouver Island, get a shuttle or whatever to the hotel, and we're there :) We fly out on the Tuesday, the 20th, at 10pm. There's a 1 hr stop-over in Vancouver, but from there we show up in TO 7something in the morning.... I am SOOO psyched!!

On top of that, we called to make our reservations (finally!) at the hotel. We're going to the Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour. For a hotel, it's pricey, but we wanted something really nice for our first trip. They wouldn't take any reservation without a confirming credit card. I was not happy. So, I called Mom and begged her, and we used her credit card. I'll just call the hotel tonight or tomorrow to confirm etc... but guess what?? Because we booked it online, we got a bonus... we didn't get the room we wanted, but it's close. However, we DID get free breakfast every day. That'll save us some money on meals. I'm sooo psyched. It's booked, and we're GOING!!
